The highlights of Hanoi (SEA 97)

Last post: Hanoi: I love you! (SEA 96)

Today, after being in Hanoi for 3 days we finally did some sightseeing. Me and Chris went to the Vietnam Military History Museum. A Museum about the Vietnam War where you can see a lot of war relicts.

From there we walked over to the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and the old house of Ho. The embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh is preserved in the cooled, central hall of the mausoleum, which is protected by a military honor guard. The body lies in a glass case with dim lights.

Next we visited the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace. From there we had a longer walk to the St. Josephs Cathedral. The church was one of the first structures built by the French colonial government in Indochina when it opened in December 1886. It is the oldest church in Hanoi.

After we visited the cathedral we walked on the streets again, had some Vietnamese coffee and some more Bia Hoi in the evening.
