Thai Pork Skewers (Moo Ping)
Are you tired of making Burgers or Spare Rips? In Thailand this super delicious BBQ Pork Skewers are called Moo Ping (หมูปิ้ง). Not only Thais love this typical street food snack. Go get some pork and impress your friends for your BBQ.
Ingredients
600 g pork shoulder, cut against the grain into bite-sized pieces
4 tbs coriander (cilantro) roots, finely chopped
7 large garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
1 tbs white peppercorns
100 g palm sugar, grated finely
3 tbs fish sauce
2 tbs light soy sauce
2 tbs oyster sauce
100 ml coconut milk
Bamboo skewers, soaked for 2-3 hours
Prepare marinade by pounding the coriander (cilantro) roots, garlic, and peppercorns together. Put pork, paste, and seasonings into a large bowl; mix well, cover, and let marinate in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
Thread the pork onto the skewers and grill over medium coals until slightly charred on the outside and cooked through on the inside. Brush coconut milk on the pork occasionally while it’s on the grill. Serve with sticky rice.
