Green Papaya Salad (Som Tam)

Green Papaya Salad (Som Tam)

Som Tam is our absolute favorite food in Thailand. The green papaya salad is simply the perfect blend of sweet, sour and spicy. It comes together the freshness of the papaya with the salty taste of the fish sauce and the spiciness of the chilies. A really great taste experience. The green papaya is usually available in any good Asian supermarket. The secret behind the great taste is definitely the mashing of all the ingredients. Originally, this salad comes from Laos. There, the dish is usually even spicier and more sour than in central Thailand.
