Mui Ne – Welcome to Russia (SEA 82)

Last post: Street Food in Saigon (SEA 81)

My first stop on my way from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi was Mui Ne. The small village is a kitesurfing paradise on the coast of south Vietnam. You can find long sandy beaches, good food and the red sand dunes nearby. This morning I took the bus from Saigon to Mui Ne and when I arrived at noon I realized that the former fisher village is full of Russian tourists. Every sign is written in Vietnamese and Cyrillic script. Everywhere you stand or walk you can hear Russians speaking. That’s not a problem for me but you can see that the locals did everything that the Russian tourists and kite surfers are felling very well in Mui Ne. You can find bars next door to fancy restaurants, hotels and clubs where you can party all night long.

After I´ve found a cheap hotel. (It took me 1 ½ hours) I went to the beach and had a long walk next to the water. The horizon was full of kites and a long view is absolutely worth it. On the evening I found good street food on the end of the village. This took me another 1 ½ hours and I was the only foreigner sitting on one of the tables.

My plan for tomorrow is to sleep as long as possible. Going to the beach and relaxing. On the afternoon I´d like to rent a bike to drive to the red sand dunes.

And now: Nastrovje!
